- Each site will be given a unique code starting with the Area, A-S, followed by a number and a location
- A grid reference will be given first for the left hand edge of the length and then for the right hand edge to locate the site on the map
- The shards will be counted and a tally made of whether each slab is upright, leaning, broken, fallen or missing

- A sample of stones will be measured for height, width and thickness
