The Coniston Copper project received a £455,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in 2016 focussed on conservation - over 150 items needing repair, stabilisation and reconstruction across ten different structures at the two sites that were at risk.
Children at Coniston CE Primary took part in the project and helped with making models to find out about the mines and the machines that were used in extracting the ore.
The models can be found at the Ruskin Museum in the village.
